Trust

1 Peter 1:10-13English Standard Version (ESV)
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action,[a] and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

In Old Testament times there were prophets in which the Holy Spirit spoke through. We can read their prophecies now and see how they came to pass with Jesus Christ.  They prophesied the coming of Christ, the place of His birth and the salvation He would bring to the world.  Yet, they did not see this come to pass, they realized it was not for them but for us.

Because of God’s great salvation to us, we need to act like we know Him.  Unlike the Israelites who roamed in the desert for 40 years because they brought the world with them.  We need to keep our focus on Him.  When our focus becomes worldly then we become just like the Israelites who chose to put their trust in idols rather than God.

As you seek Him today know that Jesus is the way to your salvation.  Trust Him and know that He is God and our mediator.

Seeking Him with all my heart,

Sheila
