I
don’t know what mountains are trembling and falling for you today. I don’t know what your struggles in life
are. I don’t know if your struggles come
from the forces on the outside or the forces on the inside. Sometimes people can look like they have it
all together but on the inside the waters are raging. No, I don’t know about you but I do know my
own struggles and I do know the only One who can calm those raging waters
within me.
Our
world looks like it could just fall apart at any time. You only have to turn the television and
watch the news to see that we do not live in a perfect, sinless world. Yet, we have someone who can be a constant
peace if only we would allow Him to be. Some of my deepest, darkest moments have
revealed a peace that is only found in Him.
When I struggle with this world and the ever changing mess that it is in,
I know I can go to the One who is ultimately in control. When I look at myself and see the mess I am
in, I know that I can call on Him. I
know I have a bright future in Him. My
bright future is yet to come, in another place than on this earth. That future holds a promise of not ever being
separated from Him! I have to cling to that
promise and I have continually seek Him and His promises to make sense of any
of the chaos around me or at least of have a peace about it.
I
struggle, yes, but when I do, I run to
the Lord who is my strength, my fortress in times of trouble. He above all knows and understands my
heart. I don’t have to try to put it
into words because He knows them already.
As
you struggle in life, remember there is a God who loves you. There is a God with a plan. Think about His plan of creating this world. I would say and He would agree, it was quite
a good plan. It was the plan of man that
messed it up! Cling to Him, not to man,
remember His plan, not yours, and seek
Him with all your heart.
Seeking
Him with all my heart,
Sheila
