Run Toward the Light

Psalm 43

English Standard Version (ESV)

43 ^(A)Vindicate me, O God, and ^(B)defend my cause
    against an ungodly people,
from ^(C)the deceitful and unjust man
    deliver me!
² For you are ^(D)the God in whom I take refuge;
    why have you ^(E)rejected me?
Why do I ^(F)go about mourning
    because of the oppression of the enemy?

^3 (G)Send out your light and your truth;
    let them lead me;
let them bring me to your ^(H)holy hill
    and to your ^(I)dwelling!
⁴ Then I will go to the altar of God,
    to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
    O God, my God.

^5 (J)Why are you cast down, O my soul,
    and why are you in turmoil within me?
^(K)Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
    my salvation and my God.

There are a lot of bad people in this world today.  Some will do anything they can to bring a Bible believing Christian down.  Some will do it with guns and bombs while others will do it with their words and actions.  Sometimes we can feel pretty downcast and distraught at the actions of others but what we need to focus on is our own actions.

How do we respond to those who look down on us as  Christians?  Do we base our feelings on those who try to harm us, who mock us, or do we base our feelings on our refuge and our strength?  Do we run towards the light or do we tend to wallow in the darkness?

If you are a Christian you know what the answer should be.  We should be running towards the light, holding tight to our hope in Christ, and praising His Holy Name.  Our salvation is in Him and He is worthy of our praise no matter what the circumstance.

As you go through trials and temptations remember always to run toward the light and seek Him with all your heart.
