Psalm 98

A Psalm.
98 Oh sing to the Lord (A)a

have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has (D)made known his salvation;

that fills it;
(S)the world and those who dwell in it!

(S)the world and those who dwell in it!
8 Let the rivers (T)clap their hands;
let (U)the hills sing for joy together

Have you ever wanted something so
badly that it hurt? I have and it is not
a good feeling. You may hear people say
things like, “You just have to want it enough and you will get it.” But sometimes God says, “no” and instead He puts
a new song in your heart, a new passion and a new plan.
God wanted us, His creation, to
recognize and obey Him. He wanted us to
know that it is through Him that we have life yet mankind continued to sin and
to have idols. He wanted us so much that
He decided the only way He could get at least some of us was to send His son to
die on the cross for our sins, which He did through Jesus Christ our Lord. Now this Psalm is written far before Christ
came but it is a song of that salvation.
He sent His salvation to the all the nations through Christ, yet not all
the nations accept that salvation. Why
is this? Some say they need a sign that
God is real. Well, He has done many
signs and wonders and people still do not follow Him. It was through suffering
that Christ’s strength was revealed and it was through His death that the power
of His resurrection was revealed. Yet
when we suffer we complain rather than singing a new song.
God is powerful, God is just and
God IS. He has given each and every one
of us a chance to have a part of His salvation.
It is up to each of us individually to either follow or reject but one
thing is for sure, some day every knee will bow to Him. To some He will say, “Well done my good and
faithful servant” and to others He will say, “I never knew you”. I want to be known by the King, what about
you? If you don’t have that new song in
your heart, I pray today that you will recognize Him, the creator of you and
the creator of the universe. I pray that
you will repent of your sin against Him and will turn and follow Him. By doing this you will have placed within you
a new song, a song of His salvation, a song of joy and completeness in Him.
Seek Him and know that through
Him you can sing a new song.
Seeking Him with all my heart,
Sheila
