Psalm 11
English Standard
Version (ESV)
11 In the Lord I
take refuge;
how can you say to my soul,
(A)“Flee like a bird to your mountain,
2 for behold, the wicked (B)bend the bow;
(C)they have fitted their arrow to the string
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3 if (D)the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”[a]

4 (E)The Lord is
in his holy temple;
the Lord's (F)throne is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids (G)test the children of man.
5 The Lord (H)tests the righteous,
but (I)his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6 Let him rain coals on the wicked;
(J)fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be (K)the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he (L)loves righteous deeds;
(M)the upright shall behold his face.

Life gets very tough sometimes but
it all boils down to a few of things. In
those tough times we need to remember.
1.
GOD SEES IT ALL
Nothing gets past God. He sees the wicked man and his actions and He
sees the righteous man and his actions.
It is a matter of which person you choose to be.
2.
The wicked will face judgment.
This passage describes to us what
he wicked will face. Even though they
may seem to have everything they want on this earth, there will come a time
when they will be rightly judged. Fire
and Sulfur and Scorching Winds will be their future.
3.
The
righteous will behold His face.
Everyone will see God and bow to
Him someday but when I read this scripture, it tells me that I will actually be
face to face with Him. I will commune
with Him, face to face. He won’t just be
passing down His judgment but will be welcoming me into His presence, what a
comforting thought.
4.
GOD
IS IN CONTROL.
Bottom line, many things will
happen on this earth, many things that we have no control over. We need to remember during those times that
God is in control. He knows, He sees, He
hears, He will test our righteousness.
Are we willing to realize that He is in control? Are we willing to obey Him, follow Him, do His
will even if it means forfeiting what we want out of life?
As you seek Him today, pray that He
will give you the strength to be found faithful in Him. Don’t be like the wicked man whose future is
fire, sulfur, and scoring winds. Be the
one who will behold His face.
Seeking Him with all my heart,
Sheila
