What about You?

Psalm 21:1-7

New International Version (NIV)

The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.
    How great is his joy in the victories you give!

You have granted him his heart’s desire
    and have not withheld the request of his lips.[b]
You came to greet him with rich blessings
    and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
    length of days, for ever and ever.
Through the victories you gave, his glory is great;
    you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
Surely you have granted him unending blessings
    and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
For the king trusts in the Lord;
    through the unfailing love of the Most High
    he will not be shaken.

This is a Psalm of David, but can you proclaim this psalm?  Read it again and put your name in the place of the king.  David recognized where his victories came from, he recognized where his strength was from.  David knew that God was the One in control and he put his trust in Him.  Because of that, nothing would change his loyalty to God.  Nothing would cause him to doubt or turn from God, he would not be shaken.

David did not have a life of all good, he had his struggles, fears, and disappointments yet he put his trust in God.  Even David struggled with people who rejected him without cause.  Even David struggled with sin.  Yet David repented.  David came to the realization that he could not do anything in his own power.  He knew he had a God that would grant him the desires of his heart.  He knew that he could not be shaken when he was in the presence of the Lord.  My question again today is, “What about you?”

Seek and trust in the Lord and find the strength, the joy, the splendor and majesty that David experienced.  We may not have the title of “king” but we belong to the KING.

Seeking Him with all my heart,
