Psalm 120
English
Standard Version (ESV)
Deliver
Me, O Lord
A
Song of Ascents.
120
In
my distress I called to the Lord,
and he answered me.
2
Deliver
me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue.
3
What
shall be given to you,
and what more shall be
done to you,
you deceitful tongue?
4
A
warrior's sharp arrows,
with glowing coals of
the broom tree!
5
Woe
to me, that I sojourn in Meshech,
that I dwell among the
tents of Kedar!
6
Too
long have I had my dwelling
among those who hate peace.
7
I
am for peace,
but when I speak, they
are for war!
Do
you ever wonder what people say about you?
Are they lies? Often times we
want to defend ourselves yet God’s word tells us that He is the One to deliver
us from lying lips. We need to be
concerned that we speak the truth and have peace with the truth. Lying lips are like burning coals that start
of slowly but the fire gets hotter and hotter.
We have to dwell in this world until the Lord is finished with our
work. We will dwell amongst those who
lie, cheat, and destroy but God is ultimately the One that will judge and He is
the One that knows the truth.
Seek
Him that your lips may be pure and your path may be straight in this world of
deception.
Seeking
Him with all my heart,
Sheila
