All Powerful God

Psalm 110
English Standard Version (ESV)
A Psalm of David.
110 (A)The Lord says to my Lord:
    (B)“Sit at my right hand,
(C)until I make your enemies your (D)footstool.”
The Lord sends forth (E)from Zion
    (F)your mighty scepter.
    (G)Rule in the midst of your enemies!
(H)Your people will (I)offer themselves freely
    on the day of your (J)power,[a]
    in (K)holy garments;[b]
from the womb of the morning,
    the dew of your youth will be yours.[c]
(L)The Lord has (M)sworn
    and will (N)not change his mind,
(O)“You are (P)a priest (Q)forever
    after the order of (R)Melchizedek.”
The Lord is at your (S)right hand;
    he will (T)shatter kings on (U)the day of his wrath.
He will (V)execute judgment among the nations,
    (W)filling them with corpses;
he will
(X)shatter chiefs[d]
    over the wide earth.
He will (Y)drink from the brook by the way;
    therefore he will lift up his head.

This Psalm may have been written long ago for the hope of the Jewish people and especially for King David.  Yet as I read it today I have to remember that there is truth in it for us today.  That is what is so amazing about the scriptures.  We need to always put Scripture into the context in which it is written yet it can speak to us in our own situations as well.  We have to be careful that we don’t make it what we want it to say but that the Lord guides us to that Scripture and gives us assurance through them.  After all, I believe His word stands today because He has something to tell us.  So what I picked out of this today was,  what God says He does.  God does not break a promise.  If He said it, it is a good as done.

In our society today we hear of concerns about rulers of this world.  We even complain about them and want them out of office, wondering all along how they made it that far. This Psalm tells me that He is watching and He will, in His time take care of anything that needs to be taken care of.  Rulers may seem powerful to us but God is so far greater powerful than any king on this earth.  As we go about our days, when we have doubts, when we begin to complain, seek Him and know that He is GOD and He keeps His promises.

Seeking Him with all my heart,

Sheila

  1. POPE FRANCIS ---THEISTIC EVOLUTION? BY STEVE FINNELL

    Is theistic evolution a Biblical concept? Pope Francis says, yes.
    Is God an all powerful omnipotent God? Pope Francis says, no.

    In a speech on October 27, 2014 Pope Francis said "The Big Bang , which currently appears to explain the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of a divine creator but demands it."

    Pope Francis said, "When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so, "

    A Catholic explained to me that the Bible was a Roman Catholic book. If The Bible is a Roman Catholic book, then why does does Pope Francis not believe it.

    The Big Bang Theory nor theistic evolution is supported by the account of creation in Genesis chapter 1. Genesis chapter 1 tells of a twenty-four hour six day creation performed by God.

    The Pope questions God omnipotence. The Bible Catholics claim to be their book says otherwise.

    Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing will be impossible." (NKJV)

    Jeremiah 32:17 'Ah, Lord God! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. (NKJV)

    Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? (NKJV)

    The Bible teaches creation performed by an omnipotent God.

    (NOTE: The Bible is God's book. The Bible is not a Roman Catholic book.)
