Meditate on His Word

Psalm 119:9-16
English Standard Version (ESV)

Beth
How can a young man keep his way pure?
    By guarding it according to your word.
10
With my whole heart I seek you;
    let me not wander from your commandments!
11
I have stored up your word in my heart,
    that I might not sin against you.
12
Blessed are you, O Lord;
    teach me your statutes!
13
With my lips I declare
    all the rules[a] of your mouth.
14
In the way of your testimonies I delight
    as much as in all riches.
15
I will meditate on your precepts
    and fix my eyes on your ways.
16
I will delight in your statutes;
    I will not forget your word.

There are a lot of self help books out there but the Word of God is the book that guides us in the right direction.  If we follow the ways that the Lord, spelled out for us in His Word, this world would be so much better.  The sad thing though is that fewer and fewer people are acknowledging His Word and acknowledging Him. Without them both we are just sinful people living in a sinful world.  People against people and nation against nation.

This scripture gives us the key to success and that is to “Seek the Lord”!  Have you ever heard that before?  We don’t just pick up our Bibles on Sunday morning, hopefully finding it, we actually read His word and meditate on it daily. Today as you seek Him, re-read the Scriptures and meditate on what He is telling you today.

Seeking Him with all my heart,

Sheila
